Saúl Ordóñez Gavela

A Spanish middle-distance runner born in Salentinos (León), he has established himself as a leading figure in national athletics throughout his career, setting the Spanish record for the 800 meters (1:43.65) and competing at the highest international level.

Holding a degree in Geography and Land Use Planning from the University of Valladolid and a Master’s in Geoinformatics for Natural Resource Management from the University of León, Saúl combines academic training with practical experience in territorial analysis.

Beyond elite competition, he now focuses his work on projects that connect sport, territory, and nature. His approach integrates technical knowledge and experience in demanding environments, applying them to rural areas, biodiversity, and the development of meaningful initiatives.

A standout among his projects is “800 Tseras,” a route-based exploration initiative that offers a unique way to experience the mountains—combining training, landscape, and local culture with a deep respect for the environment and a commitment to territorial development.

This website showcases his projects, services, and publications, while also serving as a gateway for new collaborations related to outdoor sports, rural tourism, and applied research.
